Former Council Member Lad DanielsSince beginning on the City Council in 1999, Lad Daniels has worked to raise the expectations of our City, to grow our economy, to encourage diversity and open dialogue, to promote quality education and to develop a viable workforce. During his first four years on the Council, he served on most of the seven standing committees and began his second term in 2003. His experience as a business professional and community leader combined with the citywide purview an at-large council member must maintain, made him aptly prepared for his role as City Council President for the 2003-2004 Council Year.  In recognition of his hard work and dedication to governmental transparency, Daniels was the recipient of the 2005-2006 Charles D. Webb Award, the City Council's most prestigious internal honor.

During his tenure on the Council, Daniels has also been representing the City of Jacksonville across our state and, in fact, internationally through his personal and professional travels.  Additionally, as an active board member of the Northeast Florida League of Cities, he shares ideas and information with other local governments within Florida.

Daniels is president of Daniels & Associates, Inc., and president of First Coast Manufacturers Association.

Known for his community involvement, Lad Daniels has served in the past as president-elect of the Jacksonville Community Council, Inc., chairman of The Player's Championship, president of the Mandarin Rotary Club, division chairman of the United Way, international vice president and past USA vice president of Children's International Summer Villages, District Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, and president of the Royal Lakes Civic Association.

Daniels is also a member of the Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church, a past member of the Florida Community College at Jacksonville Foundation Board, an advisor to the University of North Florida Engineering Advisory Board, past president of the World Affairs Council Board, and a member of the Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Task Force and Government Relations.
