John R. Crescimbeni
At-Large, Group 2
A fiscal conservative, John earned a reputation of being "tight with a dollar" during his previous service on the Jacksonville City Council (1991-1999). He demonstrates his commitment to public service by always doing his homework and he has never missed a regular City Council meeting during his years on the Council.
After leaving office in 1999, John remained active in civic issues. He led the petition drive to place the overwhelmingly successful Tree Preservation Amendment on the November 2000 ballot, and worked tirelessly on other initiatives to reduce litter and visual pollution.
Returning to the City Council in a special election in 2008, John presently serves as Chairman of the Land Use and Zoning Committee, and is a member of the Rules Committee, the Transportation Energy and Utilities Committee, and the Courthouse Oversight Committee. He is also a member of the Value Adjustment Board and is Chairman of the Jacksonville Waterways Commission.
A resident of Jacksonville since 1965, John is a graduate of Bolles High School, Florida State College - Jacksonville and Jacksonville University - where he triple majored in marketing, economics and management. He is the local franchisee of Hickory Farms, a company he began working for while attending high school.
John serves on the board of directors for a variety of charitable and civic organizations, including the Jacksonville Humane Society, Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library and Arlington’s Tree Hill Nature Center. John is married with three children and is a member of Christ's Church in Mandarin.
