HL JWC Hearing 2005.02.25

Waterways Commission To Hold Public Hearing on Feasibility of Fuller Warren Bridge Pier

Friday, February 25, 2005 Jacksonville, Fla.

Waterways Commission Chair, Lynette Self, Council Member District 2, has scheduled the first of two public hearing on the Fuller Warren Bridge pier concept.

After the opening of the new Fuller Warren Bridge, a part of the old span still stands on the east shore extending into the St. Johns River. "We are holding these hearings to gather public input which the Jacksonville Waterways Commission will weigh when they make a recommendation to the full City Council as to whether we keep or remove the old span," Self said. "However, bottom line is that whatever is done must be done with the utmost concern for environmental protection and public safety."

This first public hearing will be held during the regularly scheduled Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber, 1st Floor of City Hall, 117 West Duval Street. All interested parties are invited to attend.

Please Note: The second public hearing meeting will be held in the evening later in April 2005.
