Jacksonville City Council Announces On-Line Public Comments Form

Thursday, June 02, 2005 Jacksonville, Fla.

The Jacksonville City Council has implemented an on-line form specifically to receive comments from the public.  Ordinance 2005-337-E, introduced by Council Members Kevin Hyde, Michael Corrigan, Richard Clark, Arthur Graham, Suzanne Jenkins, Mia Jones and Gwen Yates, provides for the establishment of an email mailbox whereby constituents, unable to attend Council meetings, may provide public comment on pending legislation.  The on-line form may be accessed via the Council web page at www.coj.net.

Constituents may indicate their support or opposition to a particular pending bill as well as provide comments.  All communication received via the on-line comments form will be made part of the public record.

Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.
