Councilman Lake Ray To Participate in Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Tree Hill Amphitheater

Saturday, March 06, 2004 Jacksonville, Fla.

Tree Hill Nature Center Opens Amphitheater

The City of Jacksonville Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment, the Honorable Lake Ray, City Council District 1 and the Tree Hill Board of Directors, invite the public to a grand opening celebration at the new addition of Tree Hill Park. The event will take place at the newly created amphitheater, located at 7152 Lone Star Road, on Saturday, March 6, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The park acquired the new 12-acre property from the Lone Star Stables in 1998. It includes a 250 seat outdoor amphitheater, paved trails, parking lot, and expanded picnic area. This project was made possible by a grant from the Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program, and funding from Preservation Funds, and Council District 1 Bond Funds.

The grand opening event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony and entertainment from local bands to include The Julius Airwave, Saba and Rickolus. The event is free and open to the public.
