City Council Moves to Reconsider ATM License Tax

Friday, October 11, 2002 Jacksonville, Fla.

Councilwoman Dr. Gwen J. Chandler, Finance Committee Chair, announced today that the Jacksonville City Council Finance Committee will reconsider Ordinance 2002-628 at the regularly scheduled committee meeting on Monday, October 14, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. Additionally, final action on Ordinance 2002-628 is scheduled before the full City Council on Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the City Council Chambers located at 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor, City Hall, Jacksonville, Florida.

Ordinance 2002-628 amends Chapter 770, Ordinance Code, to establish License Taxing Authority for Automatic Teller Machines and Cash Dispensers (ATMs), enabling the Consolidated City of Jacksonville to levy taxes on ATMs that are located off site of the principal or branch business offices (e.g. supermarkets, bus terminals, the airport, shopping malls, etc.)

All interested parties are encouraged to attend. For additional information, contact the Office of the City Council at (904) 630-1377.
