City Council Honors Yesha Ministries Tae Kwon Do on 25th Anniversary

Monday, February 11, 2008 Jacksonville, Fla.

The Jacksonville City Council will honor Yesha Ministries Tae Kwon Do on its 25th anniversary of providing AAU and Olympic-style Tae Kwon Do with the presentation of a resolution to the group at the City Council meeting on February 12, 2008.  The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber in Jacksonville City Hall, 117 W. Duval Street, and the resolution, sponsored by Council Member Michael Corrigan, will be presented at the beginning of the agenda.

Yesha Ministries was founded in 1983 as a single Tae Kwon Do class at Neptune Beach Baptist Church and has grown to 13 schools reaching the greater Jacksonville community, primarily located in churches, Christian schools and community centers.  Since the ministry's beginning, Yesha has trained over 200 Kukkiwon (World Tae Kwon Do) Black Belts and produced local, state, regional and national champions in sanctioned AAU, Olympic, Jr. Olympic and United States National competitions.  Yesha believes that the training and experience of Tae Kwon Do is a gift from God and should be passed on freely to those who have a heart to learn, therefore classes are free of all month-to-month charges to students.
