What We Do

In January 2007, the City of Jacksonville created the Grants Management Office (GMO) in order to analyze and quantify the City's grant capacity while simultaneously locating opportunities to grow and increase that capacity. Envisioned primarily as an office dedicated to assisting City agencies, the GMO has grown past its original intention to become an office that will assist anyone in locating a grant providing that the grant in so way benefits the greater Jacksonville community.

Overtime, these responsibilities have grown to include the following grant related services:

  • Tracking and managing grants received and distributed by the city using an industry leading grants software application
  • Monitoring changes to traditional sources of grant funding, providing information to determine where and how decreases in state and federal funding will impact Jacksonville's residents and identify service gaps within the community
  • Maintaining a database of grant opportunities, granting organizations and various other resources for city departments and community organizations
  • Assisting community organizations to identify and apply for private grant funding for programs that support the mayor's initiatives
  • Providing grant identification and writing assistance to city departments
  • Internal changes to city grant procedures and policies
  • Development and maintenance of a comprehensive grants Web site

It is through this Web site that the GMO will begin to expand its roll from internal service provider to external service provider by providing the residents of Jacksonville with as much grant related information as possible, and at zero cost.

Again, the success of this Web site is, in part, dependent upon you the user. If you know of a grant related opportunity not listed on this Web site, please do not hesitate to contact me using the Contact Us feature on the navigation bar.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sincerely,

Daniel Cronrath
