CTQB	Construction Trades Qualifying Board	The Board ensures that the members of the construction industry meet the qualifications established under both City Ordinance and state law
DART	Drug Abatement Response Team	Drug Abatement Response Team
DCSB	Duval County School Board
DDRB	Downtown Development Review Board	Works to revitalize and strengthen Jacksonville's urban community by creating opportunities for growth, economic expansion and diversity.
DMG	Development Management Group	Land development (Civil plan review, plat review, as-builts, acceptance) FEMA issues; Right-of-Way issues, plus downloadable forms.
DRI	Development of Regional Impact	Any development which, because of its character, magnitude, or location, would have a substantial effect upon the health, safety, or welfare of citizens of more than one county.
EAP	Employee Assistance Program	The EAP is a free confidential counseling service for City employees and immediate members of their families.
EPA	Environmental Protection Agency
EPB	Environmental Protection Board	This board develops regulations necessary for administration and enforcement of the City's environmental laws.

JAA	Jacksonville Airport Authority
JCC	Jacksonville Children's Commission	Governed by a nine-member Board appointed by the mayor and chosen from each of the seven school board districts. Sets policy and makes decisions on the Commission's funding strategy and grantmaking.

MPO	Metropolitan Planning Organization	Responsible for transportation related air, noise, and water quality planning
NEFRPC	Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council	Regional Planning Councils are authorized by Florida Statutes. There are 11 RPCs in the state of Florida.
NPDES	National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System	Created by Congress under the Clean Water Act to help reduce pollutants into receiving waters.
PAL	Police Athletic League	A youth activities program run by police officers and volunteers for the purpose of preventing juvenile crime and drug use
PAO	Property Appraiser's Office	The Property Appraiser is an elected constitutional officer whose primary function is to appraise all property within the county for the purpose of developing an annual tax roll.

TAZ	Transportation Analysis Zone	An area defined by a mpo for tabulating transportation statistics from the census.

TIP	Transportation Improvement Program	Comprehensive source for info on all transportation related projects planned within FCMPO area
TRIM	Truth In Millage	Another name for the Notice of Proposed Property Taxes mailed to property owners each August. It is an estimate of what property taxes will likely be based on proposed millages and a property's value.

UTIP	Utility Tap-In Program	Designed to help low to median income residents cover the costs associated with connecting to City water and/or sewage
VAB	Value Adjustment Board	Hears petitions relating to assessments, complaints relating to homestead exemptions and appeals from exemptions denied and appeals concerning ad valorem tax deferrals and classifications.
VOC	Volatile Organic Compounds	Volatile organic chemicals include gasoline, industrial chemicals such as benzene, solvents such as toluene and xylene, and tetrachloroethylene (perchloroethylene, the main dry cleaning solvent).
