The Department of Public Works' Building Inspection Division is relocating its offices on Friday, April 20, to the Ed Ball Building at 214 N. Hogan St. in downtown Jacksonville along with three other agencies—thus fully vacating the City Hall Annex of city staff.
Several city offices will be moved from the City Hall Annex on Bay Street to the Ed Ball Building at 214 N. Hogan St. The offices involved are:
o Building Inspection Division/Building Code Enforcement
o Zoning/Zoning Code Enforcement
o Concurrency
o Development Management Group
o Fire Marshal's office of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department
o Tax Collector's satellite office
o Addressing section of the Planning & Development Department
These offices will close at noon on Friday, April 20, and reopen at noon on Monday, April 23 to facilitate the move. The Building Inspection Division's online system will continue to operate, and building inspectors will work normal hours during the move.
The following offices will be located on the FIRST FLOOR of the Ed Ball Building:
o Zoning Code Enforcement
o Building Code Enforcement
o Addressing
These offices will be located on the SECOND FLOOR of the Ed Ball Building:
o Building Inspection Division
o Zoning
o Concurrency
o Development Management Group
o Fire Marshal
o Tax Collector's satellite office
Customers visiting the Ed Ball Building may use metered parking or the limited hourly parking available in the Ed Ball Parking Garage.
This move from the City Hall Annex is part of an overall plan to centralize city offices.
All phone numbers will remain in operation for the next 60 days. New phone numbers and office locations will be posted on www.coj.net.
