2007 Profile: Jacksonville Child Trends & Statistics, 1990 - 2005
The third research report from the Jacksonville Children's Commission reveals 15-year trends in child diversity, poverty, health, education and other well-being indicators. The importance of these trends and opportunities for child advocates are highlighted.

The State of Jacksonville's Children
State of Jacksonville Children report coverRecently, the Jacksonville Children's Commission released The State of Jacksonville's Children, a new research report recognizing the risks and opportunities facing Jacksonville's children and youth and our city's future quality of life. 

This research, prepared by the Children's Commission's Grant, Research and Evaluation Department, was presented to City Council and School Board members, community leaders and child advocates on April 8, 2005.  Mayor John Peyton, City Council Vice-President Kevin Hyde, Children's Commission CEO Linda Lanier and Board Members Clarence H. Houston, Jr., and Gloriden Norris joined with the city's non-profit community to present this first in a series of Social Indicator Reports.

After School Gaps Analysis

Following a historical overview of the development of after-school programs nationally and locally, this document provides a needs assessment and gaps analysis. These crucial segments measure Jacksonville's current level of overall need for after-school programs for low-income children against a community inventory of available after-school services.
