This Jacksonville Children's Commission program is specifically designed for grandparents, by grandparents. The program provides opportunities for grandparents to come together to discuss the joys and stresses of their roles.  Discussions and workshops focus on a variety of topics including health, discipline, literacy, school involvement and other issues.

RAPPJax - Relatives As Parents Program of Jacksonville
The goal of the RAPPJax program is to provide a source of educational training, support, resources and referrals to relative caregivers. The program also provides an opportunity for relative caregivers to meet and talk with one another in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Some services that are provided as part of the RAPPJax program include:

  • Monthly support groups
  • Monthly newsletter
  • Caregiver training & support
  • Transportation
  • Activities for the children to provide respite for their caregivers
