The Training Institute
Early Learning & Youth Development Training Catalog
The Children's Commission's Training Institute offers a wealth of trainings that can help enhance the skills of all adults who parent, work with, relate to, and advocate for our children and
youth. The training institute publishes a quarterly catalog and provides a comprehensive array of trainings offered by faculty members that consist of community providers and Children's Commission staff.
Offerings may include the following workshops:
- Advancing Youth Development
- 40 Developmental Assets
- celebrating diversity
- building a high impact team
- advocating for and identifying services available to special needs children
- lesson plans for infants and toddlers
- Father's Make a Difference

Training Institute Goals
- To increase interactive skills of all adults in order for them to elicit and maintain positive behaviors in the infants, children and youth they encounter.
- To strengthen community-based organizations by providing training and technical assistance that promotes positive infant, child and youth development.
- To broaden the recognition and support of community youth work.
