About Residential Solid Waste

Jacksonville spends about $14 per residence to collect household garbage, yard waste and recycling.  The residential solid waste fee supplements the total cost to the city to provide those services..

The solid waste fee is charged to:

*Single-family detached homes
*Duplexes, Triplexes and Quadplexes
*Townhomes
*Mobile Homes (with less than four on a parcel)

The 2009 solid waste fee is $51 per residence.

Fees may be waived or adjusted based on occupancy.  Click here to learn more about the Unoccupied Residence Adjustment.

Fees may be exempted annually if a property owner demonstrates that ALL collection services are provided by a privately contracted waste hauler.  Click here to learn more about the Private Hauler Exemption.
