What is the Duval Legislative Delegation?
The Duval Delegation is a coalition of senators and representatives who represent all or portions of Duval County in the Florida Legislature. There are three senators and eight representatives in the Delegation.

A total of 160. There are 40 senators and 120 representatives.

When is the legislative session?
Generally the second Tuesday in March.

How long is the legislative session?
A regular session of the Legislature shall not exceed 60 consecutive days, unless extended by a three-fifths vote of each house.

A local bill is legislation that relates or applies to a particular part of the state, such as Jacksonville. Once a local bill becomes law, it is referred to as a special act.

What is a general bill?
A general bill applies to the entire State of Florida. Once a general bill becomes law, it is a assigned a chapter or session law number, which is then incorporated into the Florida Statutes.
