Storm Debris Removal

The City of Jacksonville thanks all residents for moving debris to the curb.

To expedite debris removal, please follow these procedures:

  • Yard waste must be placed in the city right-of-way within five feet of the edge of the road
  • Keep yard waste away from fire hydrants, mail boxes, cable boxes, water meters and drainage inlet.
  • Yard waste (including tree limbs, foliage, etc.) must be kept seperate from building materials
  • Debris may not all be removed at once, depending upon the amount of debris present and the availability of space on trucks. Crews will return to collect the remaining items later
  • While dealing with storm-related yard waste, residents are advised of the following:
    • Do not approach a tree touching a downed power line
    • Use extreme caution while cutting and moving downed trees to the city right-of-way
    • Do not mix vegetation with other debris like shingles, building materials, etc.
    • Do not mix yard waste with household waste
  • Household waste should be placed separately from storm debris and yard waste
