Charity Boxing Event
Participation in charitable causes and events is nothing new to firefighters worldwide, and Jacksonville's finest are no exception. Each year, the Guns 'N' Hoses charity boxing event between the city's firefighters and police officers draws thousands of rabid spectators and tens of thousands of dollars worth in contributions. Original composition written by Brian Cox of Nashville, Tennessee, and set to dramatic video footage from our award winning fire and rescue documentation library, this video is truly an emblematic depiction of courage in our profession! Adopted by the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Colorado Springs as the official tribute video, presented every September during Fallen Firefighter ceremonies, this video is a moving tribute to all who have ever served in Public Safety. The proceeds from the $15 fee go straight to the IAFF/FFM in support of our fallen comrades.
