June Incidents 2008

As usual, June marks the beginning of yet another hurricane season and the start of hurricane preparedness not only for the Department but for the citizens of our great city as well. With that in mind, it should be noted that everyone should refresh their plan of action and ensure that appropriate measures are taken in order to be 'fully prepared.' From publications to website information, there are plenty of resources available to provide everyone with an inventory of things to do during this annual challenge. Above all, however, the warning to guard against 'complacency' is perhaps the first step in ensuring that the entire community can weather any storm that may come our way.

June will also mark the grand opening of yet another fire station, as following on the heels of Fire Station 59's dedication on 3 June, Fire Station 32 will officially debut on 23 June in a ceremony scheduled for 11:30 AM.
