Firefighter on scene.Lights and sirens, big red trucks and emergencies likely come to mind when you consider the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

That is just part of our story.

JFRD is one of the largest fire and rescue departments in the nation. The 1,200 uniformed personnel who safeguard Jacksonville’s residents and property are part of a 120-year tradition.

We are extensively trained as first responders, and we experience and overcome risk on a daily basis. But we are more than merely reactive. JFRD is a sophisticated organization that is pursuing excellence through training and education as well as community service.

Our leaders would love to share the story of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department
with your organization.

Topics Include:

  • Fire Prevention & Safety
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • JFRD’s History
  • The Rescue Division
  • The Training Academy
  • Hazardous Materials Team
