Where's The Action?

A key component of the Study Circles process is the "Action Forum," which provides the opportunity for Study Circles participants to meet members from other Study Circles, take the talk to the next level, and work on recommendations about how to improve race relations in our community.

Several committees have formed since the 2000 Action Forum, including Community and Police Relations, Media Relations, Corporate and Leadership Initiatives and School Based and Faith Based Initiatives.

- A reading group has formed for people who want to learn more through discussion of the multicultural books they are reading with and about people of different races, cultures and religions.

- An Orientation program is being developed for journalists and news media based on recommendations by the Media Action group.

- A Multicultural cookbook is a project of the Community Action group.

- The Faith Community Action Group is hosting faith-based Study Circles.

- The Jacksonville Leadership Forum, a diverse group of Jacksonville business leaders, meet regularly to ensure all of Jacksonville's businesses are included in the city's economic development.
