Aviation

Cecil Field, part of the city's network of four airports managed by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA), consists of two sets of parallel runways.  The two North/South runways consist of one runway which is 12,500 feet and another which is 8,000 feet.  The two east/west runways are each 8,000 feet in length.  Additional airport facilities include 537,000 square yards of apron, eight hangars and more than 150,000 square feet of office space.  With easy access to air and seaports, many interstates and a rail system, Cecil Field is perfectly suited for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations and a variety of aviation-related industrial and commercial development.  Cecil Field is one of four airports in Jacksonville operated by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.  For more information on Cecil Field, click here.

Deep Water Port

The 1,400-acre Port of Jacksonville (JAXPORT), is comprised of three marine terminals: Talleyrand, Blount Island and Dames Point, all situated along the St. Johns River. Together they handled a record-setting 8.4 million tons of cargo in Fiscal Year 2005, including more than 544,000 vehicles - making JAXPORT the second largest vehicle handling ports in the country. In this same time, more than 1,600 vessels called on JAXPORT and more than 777,000 containers were handled.

JAXPORT, which is served by more than 26 shipping lines, accommodates a diverse range of cargo including containerized, break bulk, bulk and roll-on/roll-off. Throughout the JAXPORT facilities there are 14 container cranes, on-dock rail, advanced intermodal yards and numerous warehouses (including refrigerated). Continuous dredging improvements are in progress to increase the port's main channel to 40 feet throughout the its entire length from the Atlantic Ocean to Talleyrand terminal. Mitsui O.S.K. recently opened its 160-acre, $200 million facility at the Dames Point terminal and Hanjin's $300 million terminal is scheduled to be completed in 2011, both of which allow Jacksonville to have direct Asian container ship service and new post-panamax cranes.

International trade is big business at JAXPORT, where companies can take advantage of Foreign Trade Zone #64 and save money on tariffs and duties. JAXPORT's top trading partners include Asia, Brazil, Argentine, Russia, Columbia, Canada and Bahamas. In addition, JAXPORT also handles 85 percent of all U.S. trade with Puerto Rico.  For more information on JAXPORT, visit www.jaxport.com.

Roadways

Adjacent to Interstate 10, Cecil Commerce Center is served by a large regional roadway network.  Interstate 295, which is 7 miles east of Cecil, provides access to Interstate 95 that provides links to all major areas along the eastern coast of the United States.  Interstate 295 also connects with State Road 9A providing quick access to Jacksonville's Blount Island Marine Terminal. The site is also 50 miles to the west of Interstate 75 via Interstate 10.

The new Interstate 10 interchange at Cecil Commerce Center Parkway was completed in October 2009, providing direct access to Cecil Commerce Center at New World Ave., Normandy Blvd. and 103rd St.  Click here to visit the official project Web site.

Arterial highways immediately adjacent to the property provide direct access to these regional routes from Cecil Commerce Center.  Normandy Boulevard, a four-lane arterial State Road bisecting Cecil Commerce Center, provides a direct link to Interstate 10 via Chaffee Road and US Highway 301.  103rd St.extends to the east and provides arterial access to Interstate 95.

Rail

The region is well served by a well-developed railway system, which includes CSX, Florida East Coast (an affiliate of RailAmerica- one of the nation's leading short-line and regional railroad operators) and the Norfolk and Southern Railway Company.  Cecil Commerce Center has access to the railway via CSX trackage just north of I-10 giving tenants at the Center three commercial trade railways. There is a rail bed which extends into the northern portion of Cecil Commerce Center which may be reactivated.

Cecil Commerce Center is less than 20 miles via limited access freeway to either JAXPORT's two container terminals. On terminal rail or local short haul drayage service to site assures efficient handling of incoming/outgoing product. Cecil Commerce Center is also less than five miles from CSX's Baldwin classification yard assuring excellent local service. Visit CSX at www.csx.com
