About Holiday Road Park

Holiday Road Park is located in southeast Jacksonville, south of Atlantic Boulevard in the Glynlea Park/Holiday Hill community. The property comprised part of a 16,000-acre Spanish land grant made to Francis Richard in 1817 for the purpose of harvesting timber and constructing and operating a water-powered sawmill. Development of the Glynlea and Holiday Hill neighborhoods began in 1948 and 1955 respectively. The site is an undeveloped, wooded tract at the end of Holiday Road, across from the Holiday Hill Elementary School. City Council member Suzanne Jenkins initiated the City’s purchase of the property, which occurred in June 2003. Additional features:
