Addressing System Overview
Scope
This documentation describes the City of Jacksonville Addressing system as referenced in Ordinance 2002-992-E, of the City of Jacksonville Ordinance Code.
The Address Grid - Frontage Interval System
The City of Jacksonville's method of addressing can best be described as a Frontage Interval System. The origin point of the the interval system grid is located at the intersection of Bay Street and Main Street in downtown Jacksonville. Two imaginary base lines extend north / south and east / west from this intersection to the borders of the county. Along these base lines, additional N - S and E - W lines are added at one-mile intervals to define the grid.
