The City of Jacksonville participates in the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Community Rating System (CRS).  The CRS program provides incentives for communities that practice proper floodplain management. Each participating community is given a ranking between one and ten, one being best.  Jacksonville has a current ranking of seven.  With this ranking, people within our community who purchase flood insurance get a five percent discount if they are not in a special flood hazard area and a 15 percent discount if they are.
