Welcome to the Duval County Property Appraiser's Office employment opportunities web page.  The Property Appraiser's Office in conjunction with the City of Jacksonville provides employees with an exceptional benefits package and competitive pay.

Resumes will be screened to determine that the applicants meet the basic eligibility requirements.  Resumes will then be forwarded to the appropriate division.  The division will review the resumes and determine which applicants will be interviewed.  Human Resources will contact applicants to schedule interviews.  The best qualified applicant will be offered the position, pending satisfactory completion of a background check.

All positions work in, or operate out of the Property Appraiser's Office, located at 231 East Forsyth St., in downtown Jacksonville.

Field Appraiser – Field Operations Division

 

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Must be 18 years of age or older

·         Valid Florida driver’s license (no more than eight points accumulated in the last three years, no DUI in the last three years)

·         Ability to produce two-dimensional drawings of buildings

·         Ability to work without supervision

·         Completion of at least one real estate course such as appraising or home inspection or a college degree

·         Experience with construction types and structural elements preferred

 

Field appraiser duties include locating properties utilizing maps and legal descriptions, measuring structures, drawing buildings, identifying and listing building characteristics and features.  The job requires extensive walking in diverse weather conditions common for Northeast Florida. 

 

Starting salary is $25,900 to $37,000 depending on experience.
