Streetscape projects are typically not as intensive as road widening projects. Generally, target areas are enhanced with features such as landscaping, brick or paver sidewalks and accents, specialized crosswalks or historic light fixtures, though drainage or utility improvements may also be included in the scope of work.

Under Construction
Bay Street/Gator Bowl Blvd. Project
This project will implement reversible lanes on Bay Street/Gator Bowl Blvd. and two-way traffic between Ocean and Main, and phase 2 of the Bay Street Town Center improvements.
The project is substantially complete.
Bay Street Town Center Details:
This project is a continuation of the improvements previously constructed on the north side of Bay Street between Liberty and Ocean. It includes decorative sidewalks, historic streetlights and landscaping on both sides of Bay between Ocean and Main, as well as the south side between Newnan and Ocean. Market Street between Bay and Forsyth will also be improved.
Reversible Lane Details:
Bay Street / Gator Bowl Blvd. will be reconfigured between Talleyrand and Ocean Street to allow one-way traffic on three lanes entering and exiting the Sports and Entertainment Complex during periods of peak activity (i.e., Jaguar games, Florida-Georgia). Previously, this traffic pattern was implemented by using cones and JSO officers directing traffic.
This project will include the installation of reverse lane signals on mast arms, cameras, message boards and new road striping. On-street parking will remain as is currently allowed.
Main Street Phase 2 [Springfield]
This project is a continuation of improvements previously constructed between 1st and 4th. It includes decorative sidewalks, historic streetlights, new landscaped medians on Main Street from 4th Street to 12th. Also includes JEA water, sewer and electric upgrades.
Project is under construction. Anticipated completion late 2009.
