The Real Estate Division manages the business side of the city's real estate holdings. It handles acquisition, appraisals, management, disposal, inventory, use assessment and other functions. When community development program grants are involved, the division also certifies that various federal requirements have been fulfilled.

Bob Williams, a second-generation real estate executive, received his first real estate license in 1962 in Virginia. Subsequent to his graduation from Wake Forest University in 1970, Williams has been involved in the entire spectrum of real estate, including acquisition, development and asset management of real estate for public companies and savings banks. He has owned his own mortgage and real estate firms in Florida since 1989. Williams received his appointment from Mayor John Peyton in January 2004.
