The Behavioral and Human Services Division provides after-hours crisis intervention services for crime victims and their families from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. The services are intended to help reduce the trauma associated with crime victimization and to facilitate recovery.
Services are provided at the emergency rooms of Shands Jacksonville and St. Vincent's Hospital and are free. The after-hours counselors also serve as information links between the medical staff, the crime victim and family members. Follow up counseling, referral and case management services are coordinated with the division's daytime programs for crime victims.
For more information about the after-hours program, or additional services available to crime victims, please see the Victim Services link on this page or call (904) 630-6300.
