The Behavioral and Human Services Division collaborates with area government, law enforcement, and domestic violence agencies to provide a comprehensive array of free services for victims of domestic violence.
The Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team (INVEST) identifies and intervenes in the potentially most lethal domestic violence cases. The team is comprised of a City of Jacksonville Program Coordinator and a Planning Technician, a contracted Hubbard House Advocate, and a specially trained and assigned Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Officer.
The Team's efforts are complemented by the INVEST Collaborative, which serves as an advisory council to the INVEST staff, sets policy for INVEST, and insures extensive coordination of services through its broad membership of area government, law enforcement and social service provider agencies.
Domestic violence cases identified as high risk for lethality by JSO are followed up by the Team, who work to provide services to victims and accountability for perpetrators. Client participation is completely voluntary and confidential.
The INVEST Collaborative is represnted by the following agencies:
City of Jacksonville Recreation and Community Services Department, Behavioral and Human Services Division, Animal Care and Control, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Hubbard House, Department of Children and Families, Navy Northeast Region, State Attorney's Office, Women's Center of Jacksonville, Salvation Army of Northeast Florida, Jewish Family and Community Services, University of North Florida/Police and Public Safety, Neptune Beach Public Safety Division, Jacksonville Beach Police Department, Atlantic Beach Police Department, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Family Nurturing Center and Planned Parenthood of Northeast Florida.
