You can make a difference!

What we do:

The Behavioral and Human Services Division provides comprehensive counseling, case management, referral, and victim advocacy services for victims of crimes at the Victim Services Center.  Specialized services for victims of sexual assault are provided at the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC).  Services are provided free of charge to all victims of crime and their significant others.  For more information, please see the Victim Services link and the Services for victims of Sexual Assault link.

How you can help:

The Behavioral and Human Services Division's Victim Services Program has been grateful for the assistance of many dedicated volunteers over the years.

The Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC) has an ongoing need for the following volunteer assistance:

Office Assistant 

Volunteers are needed during normal business hours, 8-5 PM to assist with clerical, receptionist duties as well as projects, follow up calls, volunteer recruitmemt, and communications and scheduling.  Volunteers will work with phones, filing, paperwork preparation, copy and fax machines.

Clerical Assistant in the Follow-up Clinic:

Volunteers are needed during Tuesday evening clinic, 5-7 PM.  Duties include clerical preparation to assist Nurse Practitioner's Examinations, interview victims regarding current case status, needs, and client satisfaction. 

Volunteer Advocate

Volunteers are needed during normal business hours to assist with hotline calls, follow up calls, and various center support activities and projects.

Speakers Bureau  

Volunteers are needed during business hours, evening and/or weekends to make presentations to adult and/or high school groups that have requestd community education. Materials and speaker training are provided.  Speaking engagements are scheduled by the Center and volunteers are assigned according to their availability.

Information Fairs

Volunteers are needed to staff tables/booths at various health and information fairs to distribute sexual assault and victim services information.
