Agricultural/Horticultural industries of Duval County are as broad as your imagination. The Duval County Extension Services Office provides informational newsletters, seminars and fact sheets to assist agriculturists and help urban consumers of agriculture products understand where the food and fiber start.
There are four main areas of the agriculture/horticulture section of the Extension Office:
- Home Owner Horticulture: For residential landscapes or apartment dwellers with questions about plants. This area also includes the Master Gardener Program, the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program and the Urban Gardening Program.
- Commercial Horticulture: For professionals in the Green Industry including landscape maintenance, pest control operators, retail garden centers, property managers and nurserymen and growers.
- Production Agriculture: For the commercial and non-commercial livestock owners, agricultural crops and aquatic systems.
- Urban Forestry: For both homeowners and professionals
