The Grant Compliance Office manages three important programs: The Public Service Grant Program, the Juvenile Justice and Offender-Based Program and the Driver Education Safety Trust Fund.

Public Service Grant Program
The City of Jacksonville's Public Service Grant Program is one of the country's largest municipal grant programs.  Each year, the city utilizes local tax dollars to purchase measurable services from not-for-profit agencies and grass-root organizations that will improve the quality of life for Jacksonville's residents in the areas of senior and disabled services, employment, education, housing, health, crime prevention, rehabilitation, recreation, the arts and literacy.

To insure that the city's investment results in positive outcomes and life-changing experiences for its residents, a public service grant monitor provides technical assistance to each grant program assigned by the Department of Recreation and Community Services. Currently the office administers funding for 48 agencies that provide a broad range of health and human services.

Juvenile Justice and Offender-Based Programs 
The Juvenile Justice and Offender-Based Programs coordinates the City of Jacksonville's efforts to implement the recommendations of the 1996 Comprehensive Strategy Task Force that identified problems and recommended solutions to the area's juvenile crime problems.

Driver Education Safety Trust Fund
The Driver Education Trust Fund was authorized by Ordinance 2002-1165-E and was new in fiscal year 2004-2005. The funding is provided by an additional $3 levy on each civil traffic penalty, in both circuit and county courts, to be used to fund driver education program in public and non-public schools. The purpose of the Driver Education Safety program is to enhance traffic safety by providing a program funding source to public and non-public schools and by encouraging driving age students to participate in driver education classes at no or low cost to the schools.
