Join a Team: The city athletics office does not match players and teams but we do maintain a player pick-up list for spring, summer and fall softball seasons.  We start the list two weeks prior to the season's registration and maintain the list for two weeks into the season.  To get on the player pick-up list, call Terry Stephens at 630-3572 or Kevin Coleman at 630-4145.  We will need your full name, division and level of play (Example: Men's B and Co-ed B) and phone numbers.

Softball Field Practice Permits: Call Kevin Coleman at 630-4145 for a practice field; permits can be sent by e-mail if they do not require lights.  We permit fields on the odd hour for 2-hour time limit (example: 9 AM to 11 AM), we only permit one permit at a time for any one team.   Click on the following document for a list of adult practice fields and addresses. Copy of Adult SB-BB-FB Fields.pdf  Lighting fee for a practice field is $25 for two hours.

Game Cancellation Hot Line: The Athletics office will continue to operate the Game Cancellation Hot Line (904-630-0141), for the 2007 seasonThis line is for the team manager to check on the league status.  We will up date the information daily at Drew Park and Ringhaver by 6:30 PM, Ray Greene will be updated by game time of the first scheduled game.  This cancellation line will not be updated before these hours; we do not have an employee at these sites.  Only on rare occasion will we cancel games from the Athletics office prior to 5 PM and only due to extensive weather conditions and rain in the area of the fields and after we have spoken to Park Maintenance staff or FFCASA representatives, regarding field and safety conditions.

The intent of the Cancellation Hot Line (904-630-0141)is to try and get the games in unless the fields are too wet for the safety of the players or the fields might become damaged, and for the convenience of the teams and their players that are scheduled for the second and third or even fourth game of the night.  If your team has the first game scheduled, please have the team on the field ready to play.

Jacksonville Ultimate Frisbee League: A recreational co-ed league. A game of Ultimate is played by two seven-player squads with a high-tech plastic disc on a field similar to football. Ultimate is a transition game in which players move quickly from offense to defense. Ultimate is governed by Spirit of the Game™, a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players rather than referees. We strive to create an environment where players of all skill levels have fun and learn, especially players new to the sport.
