Friends of the Park
JaxParks invites you to partner with us by providing volunteer services at a park or community center.

Who can participate?
Friends of the Park partnerships can be designed to fit the needs of any civic group or organization.  Examples of possible partners are:

Corporations
Garden clubs
Scout groups
Student organizations
Businesses
Professional associations
Neighborhood groups or associations

How do we get started?
Decide the program activity(s) you wish to provide.

Complete an online application (coming soon) or request an application from the Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment at 630-4100 and submit via mail to:

A member of the Parks, Recreation and Entertainment staff will contact you to schedule a meeting to discuss the details of your Friends of the Park partnership.

Start your projects and have fun!

Possible Projects:
Planting shrubs, flowers or trees
Painting playground equipment
Picking up litter
Painting/repairing a community center
Special park/center clean-up events
Specific projects as determined

You are appreciated!
The City of Jacksonville and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment are grateful for all of our Friends of the Park partners.  Upon completion of your volunteer time, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Entertainment will:

Place a sign at the designated park or center, showing your organization's support.

Present your organization with a Friends of the Park certificate.

Provide a Friends of the Park keepsake to all participants.
