Tillie K. Fowler Park (Formerly Westside Regional Park)
7000 Roosevelt Blvd.

With 509 acres, Tillie K. Fowler Park is among the largest of all Jacksonville parks.  A bridge path way on one of the trails leading to a dirt lined trail with trees in the background.It features a nature center and outdoor classroom, picnic area with grills and playground equipment, biking trails, a series of hiking and nature trails, and an elevated platformA wooden pathway leading to a viewing tower with trees surrounding the path. from which to view wetlands, soaring bald eagles, and other birds.  Along the trails you will see evidence of Jacksonville's past in the form of a 16-foot wide brick road built in the early 20th century.  (Park Map)

Westside Regional Park is headquarters for our park naturalist who will gladly set up a nature walk or program for your organized group, club, school, or class.  All programs are free of charge and can be scheduled by calling (904) 573-2498.

Park hours:  5 a.m. - 7 p.m. (5 a.m. - 9 p.m. during Daylight Saving Time)

Programs include:

Discovery Walks - An exploration of the creatures and plants of the park.  Available for all ages but a favorite for 3-6 year olds.

A beautiful butterfly on a flowering plant in the butterfly gardenTheme Walks - Walks can be set up covering topics from insects to edible plants to Florida's natural history.

Evening Programs - Nighttime walks and campfires highlight nocturnal wildlife and natural wonders.

Owl Prowl - A nighttime walk through the forest that highlights native nocturnal creatures.

Envirocamp - A summer camp providing children ages 7-12 a chance to explore the area's native inhabitants and ecological systems.

Wee Workshops - Sensory and hands-on programs designed for children 7 years and under.

Curious Naturalist - Become a naturalist during these hands-on activities for children ages 5-13 years.

VIP Program - Become a VIP by volunteering in parks for some clean, green, safe, and fun times.  All that is needed is enthusiasm and time.
