Want to be a pilot? Can't afford a 757 or an F-15? Take a look at the radio control model airplanes flown by enthusiasts at the Lannie Road Park radio control flying field. The site is home to the Gateway Radio Control Club and has a covered pavilion with picnic tables and work benches, taxi-ways, runway, and club house. In order to fly a model, you must have Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) insurance coverage or its equivalent.
This 60-acre park also includes playground equipment and athletic fields.
Hours: The park is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to sunset; Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
