Experience a day filled with adventure and excitement at one of Jacksonville’s premiere oceanfront parks. Come fly a kite in the country’s longest running kite festival, ride the waves at a favorite surfing spot, try out the unique sport of disc golf, relax with a movie in the park and much more.

Daily event schedule:

84th Annual Kite Festival
11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Activities on the beach Parking available in parking lots 9 and 10 This event, the longest-running kite festival in the United States, includes a kite making clinic, tips on kite flying techniques and competitions.

Disc golf clinic & vendor fair
10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Activities at shelter 6
Parking on utility field

Orbital Enhancements will host disc golf activities including demonstrations and clinics for all skill levels. It’s the perfect opportunity to try something new or hone your skills. Disc golf vendors will also be on site.

Surf's Up! Surfing Demonstrations
1 - 2 p.m.

“Hang ten” at one of Jacksonville’s most popular surfing spots. Local surfing experts share their knowledge of riding the waves with free surfing demonstrations for all ages and skill levels.

Environmental Education Program: Florida's Living Symbols
11 a.m. - noon

Parking at lot 5

Do you know what Florida’s state bird is? Do you know we also have a state butterfly, reptile and fish? Join our park naturalist as she introduces participants to these and state mammals during a fun and educational program for all ages. Non-living specimens will be shown and discussed.

Environmental Education Program: Beach Walk and Talk
1 - 2 p.m.

Parking at lot 3

Seashells by the sea shore are always a draw for beach visitors. Join JaxParks’ park naturalist to look for and learn about shells and other ocean treasures during a guided tour of Hanna Park’s beachfront. This program is for all ages, but some terrain may not be appropriate for strollers.

Environmental Education Program: Trail Walk and Talk
3 - 4 p.m.

Parking at lot 3

Nature abounds in Northeast Florida. Join our park naturalist for a walk on the coastal upland trails of Hanna Park and learn about the plants and animals that live in this area. This program is for all ages, but some terrain may not be appropriate for strollers.

Trailing Through the Woods: Bicycle rides with Champion Cycle and Fitness

Two wheels is a great way to explore your local parks and natural areas. Join local cycling enthusiasts as they lead guided bike tours along Hanna Park’s popular bike trails. Tours will leave every 15 – 30 minutes depending on group size Off-road cycling will be allowed only on designated bike trails. Off-road bikes required.

Star Gazing
6 - 10 p.m.

The night skies above Northeast Florida’s coastline are often twinkling with stars and other celestial bodes. The Northeast Florida Astronomical Society offers an opportunity to view the night sky through telescopes while discussing the various constellations and other bodies in the lunar atmosphere.

Movies in the Park featuring Back to the Beach
6 - 10 p.m.

The evening’s feature is a family-friendly movie projected on a large outdoor screen. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Free refreshments will also be available.
