2009 Commemorative Poster
Trio Jax by Tom Farrell
The official 2009 Jacksonville Jazz Festival poster was created by artist Tom Farrell and embodies the spirit of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival. By using vividly posed figures, along with flowing lines help show the creativity, spontaneity and excitement that jazz music has to offer. The bold and vibrant colors also help to capture the energy and diversity of our city.
Tom Farrell's work has been recognized since he was in junior high school. He uses raw acrylic color in his lively, brilliantly colorful paintings. For many of his other paintings, he uses scenes from the St. Augustine area. Many of his painting have won Best In Show awards statewide. Amazingly, all of his accomplishments have been done in his spare time. Farrell graduated from the University of Florida with a Juris doctorate degree in 1992. He is now a practicing attorney and founder of the law firm of Farrell & Gasparo, P.A.
