Types of Permits
Street Vendor:- A person who sells or offers for sale any merchandise from inventory located on a vehicle authorized by law to travel on a public street.
Residential Solicitor/Peddler Permit: - Going door to door in a residential neighborhood.
Documentation Required for a Residential Solicitor/Peddler Permit:
Fictitious name, must register company name with Tallahassee (850-245-6058).
Completed Application.
Health permit, this is required for all food sales.(Dept. of Agriculture 1-800-435-7352)
Vending unit inspection by the Department of Agriculture. Occupational License, Peddlers of Retail, $61.25 for one year.
Photo of vending unit or object from which you are selling. Picture Identification of applicant.
Transient Merchant Permit: - Setting up on private property, i.e. outside a store, parking lot, gas station, empty lot or out-of-county, state vendor.
Documentation Required for a Transient Merchant Permit:
Fictitious name, must register company name with Tallahassee (850-245-6058).
Completed Application.
Letter of permission from the property owner or legal agent. This letter must be notarized and contain the name, address and telephone number of the property owner or legal agent. The date on this letter must be within the last six months. Zoning certificate (City Hall, Room 100) (904) 630-1086. Sidewalk Vendor Permit: - On City right-of-way, zoned commercial or industrial, not private property.
Documentation Required for a Sidewalk Vendor Permit:
A. Non-specified location- Sets up on City right-of-
way, moves around.
Fictitious name, must register company name wih the Tallahassee (850-245-6058).
Completed application.

Proof insurance, general liability insurance, in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City of Jacksonville as co-insured. Occupational License, Peddler of Retail $61.25 for one year. Photo of vending unit or object from which you are selling. Picture Identification of applicant.
B. Specified Location-Set up on City right-of-way,
same location everyday.

Completed application. Consumer Affairs (117 West Duval Street, 904-630-3667) applicant must submit application and site plan to consumer affairs for approval.

A permit is needed in addition to occupational license. Permit begins 1st day of month and ends last day of the month.
