The School Resource Officer Program consists of six sergeants and 48 police officers who are assigned on a full time basis to the Duval County Public Schools. Each officer is highly trained and able to assist in the overall mission of the school. The police officers and sergeants are independent experts in discipline and security issues.

School Board Investigations
The School Board Investigations Unit is under the command of Lieutenant Jimmy Judge and comprised of three JSO detectives and they partner with two school board detectives.
The detectives conduct the follow-up investigations of all criminal activity that occurs on school property. The detectives also provide district-wide training on emergency procedures and crisis management, investigate bus stop issues, crowd control and conflict resolution with parents. The officers work in conjunction with the school resources officers listed above.
