Burglary Unit
Burglary Unit

The Burglary Unit investigates all business and residential burglaries as well as thefts over a certain dollar amount. There are five burglary squads, each of which is led by a detective sergeant. The squads have four to five detectives each. These squads are assigned to the geographic patrol zones within our city.

The Burglary Unit strives to identify and arrest burglary suspects and recover property taken in burglaries and thefts. Having the detectives investigate the burglaries that occur in assigned areas helps the detectives keep track of known trouble spots. It also creates a closer relationship between the detectives and the uniformed patrol officers who work those areas.
