The Economic Crimes Unit is comprised of nine detectives, and supervised by a detective sergeant. The unit investigates forgeries, frauds, including internet fraud, bank fraud and credit card fraud, along with identity theft, con games, and other economic crimes. The Economic Crimes Unit works closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as banks, credit card companies, and other financial institutions. Some economic crimes unit personnel are members of the United States Secret Service Northeast Florida High-Tech Crimes Task Force and the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators.
