The Public Counter Unit furnishes walk-up service
for a variety of needs including background checks, fingerprinting services, requests for photographs and 911 tapes as well as specialized report requests. Public Counter personnel also provide electronic fingerprinting for concealed weapons permit applicants.

In 2006 there was a 65% increase in the persons fingerprinted as a concealed weapons applicant. Additionally there was a 35% increase in the requests for background checks, traffic crash and offense reports.   Our six substations also provide many of these services in conjunction with the Records Unit, to make access to our records more convenient to our citizens.

Hours of operation for the Public Counter & Records Unit are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. We are closed on all federal holidays. Click here for a schedule of fees and additional service locations.
