The Traffic Citation Unit provides the "back office" functions for processing traffic citations that are given to people who are cited for violations. Members of the unit issue Uniform Traffic Citation, Warning Citation, and Notice to Appear Citation books to Sheriff's Office sworn personnel.They also collect and account  for citations written by officers and forward them to the Clerk of the Courts. During 2007, the Unit processed 220,585 traffic citations written by Sheriff's Office personnel.
