The Validation Unit is responsible for insuring the accuracy of each entry made by agency personnel into the NCIC/FCIC (National Crime Information Center and Florida Crime Information Center) computer systems. In 2007 more than 33,500 computer entries were checked for accuracy. Entries include serial numbers and other identifiers on guns, boats, vehicles, vehicle tags, and vehicle parts. Missing Persons, Injunctions, Writs and Warrants are also entered into NCIC/FCIC.
