FOP and Allied Veterans of the World team up to help beat hunger in Jacksonville with a $27,500 Donation

The Jacksonville FOP Foundation has donated $7,500, along with a donation of $20,000 from the Allied Veterans of the World, to help feed hungry families who live in Jacksonville.
Wayne Rieley, Executive Director of Second Harvest Food Bank which was the recipient of this needed gift, stated that the donation will help purchase more than one million dollars worth of food for families who live in Jacksonville.
Nelson Cuba, President of the FOP, along with Johnny Duncan and Jerry Bass representing Allied Veterans of the World, stated that their organizations just wanted to help as many families as possible during these tough times.
Undersheriff Frank Mackesy of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced that all six JSO substations and the FOP will be drop off points for the Second Harvest Food Bank at a news conference held at the FOP headquarters, on Friday, Dec. 5. Non-perishable donations such as can goods and dry pasta will be accepted at the substations through Dec. 19, 2008.
