In conjunction with the Regional Domestic Security Task Force (RDSTF) Region III of the Urban Area Security Initiative (Department of Homeland Security), the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has produced this anti-terrorism video.

It was created for the citizens of North Florida through a grant provided by the National Urban Area Strategic Initiatives (UASI).  The project was facilitated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) in coordination with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as quasi and non-government entities in our area that are part of the critical infrastructure of the region or could be targeted for attack.

The video is brief (8 minutes) and was purposely written for a general viewing audience; especially parents, business owners and managers, and members of the media who want to educate the public about preparing for the unexpected and hardening our targets.

The primary goal of any anti-terrorism planning is the prevention of acts of terrorism.  This can only be accomplished with the assistance of the public. We want to raise your awareness of this issue and educate the public about simple things you can do to help law enforcement.

We have distributed the video to all government offices, school superintendents and media outlets in the Task Force Region III area. Our goal is to educate citizens on the threat of domestic terrorism and the role you all play as our first line of defense: being aware and informed citizens.

Thank you,
John H. Rutherford
