Sheriff's Office Recognizes 2007 Employees of the Year and Citizen of the Year

Friday, January 26, 2007 Jacksonville, Fla.    

On January 18, 2007 the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office recognized the six employees of the year and their Citizen of the Year for 2007.  Each of the following recipients has demonstrated excellence and dedication in their service to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the community.

•  Police Officer Glenn W. Morningstar, Police Officer of the Year

•  Corrections Officer Ralphalontae W. Riley, Corrections Officer of the Year

•  Angela M. Bindel. Civilian Employee of the Year
     Sponsored by Solantic 

•  Reserve Sergeant  Ronald L. Allen, Reserve Officer of the Year
     Sponsored by Nimnicht Chevrolet 

•  Police Sergeant William J. Dobscha, Police Supervisor of the Year
     Sponsored by Stein-Mart

•  Corrections Sergeant Vanessa A.  Tranquille, Corrections Supervisor of the Year
     Sponsored by Bealls Inc.

•  Bob Snodgrass, Citizen of the Year 
      President and Chief Executive Officer of Brumos Motor Cars Inc.

The six recipients of the Employee of the Year Award were all former Employees of the Month during 2006. "These outstanding employees work day-in and day-out demonstrating excellence and commitment to their chosen profession of law enforcement" said Sheriff John H. Rutherford.  "These six individuals personify our four Core Values – Worthy of Trust, Always Improving, Respect for Each Other and Community Focused," Rutherford commented.

The 2007 Citizen of the Year, Mr. Snodgrass, has been a 30 year supporter of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. "I view Bob Snodgrass as a very special friend. We know that his generosity has enabled our officers to be better trained, safer and able to provide outstanding law enforcement to the citizens of Jacksonville," commented Sheriff John H. Rutherford. "It is my privilege to recognize him as our 2007 Citizen of the Year for his lasting friendship and commitment to JSO, and every one of our officers," Rutherford added.
