JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Fraternal Order of Police, Adamec Harley-Davidson, Venus Swim Wear, Brumos Motor Cars, and Aetna are proud to present the 4th annual Light the City Police Motorcycle Charity Ride on Friday, October 10th, 2008. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. and the police-escorted ride starts at 7 p.m. The ride begins and ends at the Adamec Harley-Davidson/Buell SuperPlex, 8909 Baymeadows Road at I-95.
The ride is produced by the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and benefits the Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, Northeast Florida Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors and the Police Athletic League. In 2007 the Light the City Charity Ride raised more than $30,000 for these organizations. This year's ride has a goal of $50,000.
The Fourth Annual Light the City Police Motorcycle Charity Ride is being held in memory of Allan Adamec who built upon the Adamec family tradition of strong advocacy for Law Enforcement through his dedicated support and genuine friendship to law enforcement professionals.
During his career as a Harley-Davidson dealer Allan won many awards and accolades from Harley-Davidson Motor Company including the prestigious Bar & Shield Circle of Excellence Award. As a proud and loyal Harley-Davidson rider and dealer, Adamec strove to ensure Law Enforcement rode the Harley-Davidson brand.
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS.
Tickets are $35 per driver and $25 per rider. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $250, which includes VIP ride placement.
