Nominated for the 3rd Annual America's Most Wanted All-Star Award
Friday, March 30, 2007 Jacksonville, Fla.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Police Officer Keith Jowers was recently nominated by the "America's Most Wanted" website for their "All Star Award." Officer Jowers was nominated because of his life long service to at risk youth in Jacksonville.
A dedicated law enforcement professional of 24 years, Officer Jowers has been with JSO for 17 years. He believes strongly in community involvement, and founded Dads4Life, a non-profit organization that focuses on the importance of fatherhood, especially for fathers who may not physically reside with their children.
Keith is a safety education officer assigned to the Police Athletic League (PAL), and looks for opportunities to volunteer with PAL and in the community. He received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the First Coast Family Center in 2006 as a result of his lifetime involvement with children in Jacksonville.
"I am proud that Keith has been recognized for his dedicated service. His actions speak volumes about his commitment and dedication to the children of this community and the JSO," says Sheriff John Rutherford. "He is truly one of JSO's finest, an excellent role model and deserves this honor!"
For the third year in a row, Fox television's top rated program, America's Most Wanted has teamed up with Sprint Nextel to find a way to honor first responders, by creating the AMW All-Star Awards.
